Hello! I’m Sinéad O’Connor, an oil painter with a passion for capturing the vibrancy of life through my art. My journey into the world of painting began during the pandemic when I made the bold decision to leave my finance career at the age of 40. It was a significant turning point for me— one that allowed me to pursue my true passion and embrace a more fulfilling life as an artist.
Finding My Joy
Leaving a job that didn’t spark joy was daunting, but it has led me to a place of immense happiness. Every day, I wake up excited to create, and I truly love painting. My work not only allows me to engage in my passion but also gives me the precious gift of more time with my family. This newfound balance has brought unparalleled joy into my life.
Capturing Life Through Art
As an artist, I like to paint older faces, using bright colours and modern clothing, often featuring items like headphones. I enjoy the juxtaposition of age and youth, creating pieces that celebrate the beauty and wisdom of experience while infusing them with a sense of vibrancy and fun. I also like to paint bright colourful landscapes. My goal is to bring joy into people’s spaces, transforming everyday surroundings into visual celebrations filled with colour and life.
Art as Therapy
For me, painting is more than just a profession; it’s a very meditative and peaceful process. I get very immersed in it all, it gives me time away from the mental chatter and the never ending to-do list going around and around my brain. I find immense joy in the act of creation, and I strive to share that joy through my artwork.
